Beginning from the second middle of the XIX century in Tuscany it recovers strength a pictorial-figurative stile which leaved behind the Naturalism of the first years of the century and which goes in the direction of the most affected Romanticism end XVIII century. It’s used a Descriptive style that has as main elements the flowers often combined with a rich passementerie and elegant interlacements with typical materials of the furniture of that period. For the magnificence that these decorations gave to the good lounges, mostly city residents, such style was called “New Empire”.
